We are thrilled to collaborate with the Saskatoon Futsal League in our inaugural year of hosting Futsal!

The Saskatoon Futsal League (SFL) has played a pivotal role in launching and growing futsal in Saskatoon by serving as an elite-level platform for the sport. We admire their contributions and accomplishments. We are honoured, hopeful and excited to work together to bring even more futsal to Saskatoon!

THE IMPACT OF FUTSAL

🏆 Development of Elite Players

• An alternative pathway for developing elite soccer players.

• By offering structured competition, and similar to our boarded leagues, futsal helps players improve technical skills, decision-making, and speed—attributes that translate well to outdoor soccer.

🥅 Organized League Play

• The league provides regular seasonal competition across multiple divisions helping normalize futsal as a year-round sport in Saskatoon.

• Teams like Green & White, SK Impact FC and Olimpia FC have become local staples, fostering community and talent.

🌟 National Recognition with SFL

• Saskatoon-based teams such as SK Impact FC have competed—and succeeded—at the Futsal Canadian Championship, showcasing the city’s growing prominence in the national futsal scene.

• In 2025, SK Impact FC won the Women’s Final, having eliminated the previous national champions, further proving the strength of Saskatoon’s futsal ecosystem.

• Jade Houmphanh was name MVP at 2025 Futsal Nationals Championship. Jade, along side Erica Hindmarsh and Jadyn Steinhauer, were named to the Canada National Futsal team roster. Jerson Barandica-Hamilton was also named to the team as Assistant Coach where they together embarked on the journey to Guatemala City and placed 1st in the CONCACAF Championship!!

• Erica, Jade, Jadyn and Jerson will heading to the Philippines this November for the FIFA FUTSAL WOMENS WORLD CUP!! Yes, THE FUTSAL WORLD CUP!!

🤝 Collaboration with Provincial Bodies

• The Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) supports futsal development through events like the Futsal Provincials and Prairie Futsal Championships, often involving SFL teams and players.

• We hope our collaboration with SSA and SFL will lead more teams to join the SSA Futsal Provincials and the Prairie Futsal Championship in the years to come! 

FUTSAL LEAGUE MANAGEMENT

Saskatoon Adult Soccer (SAS) and the Saskatoon Futsal League (SFL) are teaming up for the 2025-2026 indoor season to enhance futsal league offerings.

SFL will manage the top division's experienced teams and SAS will manage the more recreational and new teams to futsal.

Regardless of team management, all teams and players will register with Saskatoon Adult Soccer for the Indoor 2025-2026 season.

INDOOR 2025-2026 TEAM LIMIT

Both SAS and SFL will only be taking a handful of teams for this season.

ENTRY IS A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. Note: Entry does not guarantee placement.

The Entry Fee / Deposit and Registration Form must be submitted to have your entry considered complete.

FUTSAL SPECIFIC DATES & DEADLINES

IMPORTANT CROSS LEAGUE NOTICE & CLARITY

Registration:

• One futsal team per player

• All players must be registered for futsal to participate in futsal

Permitting:

• No permitting is allowed between SAS soccer and SAS/SFL futsal

Suspensions:

• Suspensions are league-specific and cannot be served in other leagues

• A suspension in either SAS/SFL futsal or SAS soccer makes you ineligible in BOTH futsal and soccer until it's served

The Futsal Mindset:

• Futsal is its own culture with deep roots - not just "indoor soccer"

• The rules are strict! There is less tolerance for bad behavior than in soccer

• Learn the rules before you play to avoid unnecessary fouls and cards

LEAGUE STYLE/FORMAT SUMMARY

LEAGUE FEES & INSTALMENT DATES

Players must register as players to participate in the league, but player registration does not include the general costs associated with each team to play league. (See Individual Player Registration details for more information.)

League fees cover the following costs: administration, field rentals, prizes, sanctioned referee fees etc.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Teams can pay their league/team fees via credit/debit online when the team is registered.

Teams can also pay by cash at the office. Debit is NOT available.

ADDITIONAL FEES & REQUIREMENTS

All participants (players and team personnel) must register prior to being on the bench, have Photo ID, and be 15 years old.

The Individual Player Registration Fee is $45 for the 2025-2026 Indoor season.

Additional information pertaining to individual player registration will be sent out to team contacts after team registrations are approved, including your Team Code or Team Invite for your players to join once the player registration opens.

Futsal Player Registration will not open until Final Alignment is released.

NEW TEAM BOND

Any new team or new team contact must pay the $200 New Team Bond. The New Team Bond package must be included in the check-out of your Team Registration to finalize your registration.

Teams are “new” and require the team bond when the team and/or team contact have not participated in either the SAS or SFL league for 2 years.

LATE FEES

Any team that is late in submitting their team fees and/or registration form must also pay a late fee of $110 per day to be accepted.  If paying by e-transfer, the date of the late payment is the date of the submission.  No exceptions.  Teams will not be considered otherwise.
 

TEAM WITHDRAWAL PENALTIES/REFUND POLICY

Penalties will not be charged to teams that withdraw their registration by the registration deadline.  The following schedule of penalties will be in effect if a team withdraws from the SAS League after the registration deadline:

1 - 2 calendar days after the registration deadline: $100 fine
3 - 7 calendar days after the registration deadline: $500 fine
8 - 21 calendar days after the registration deadline: 50% of Total Fees*
22 - 28 calendar days after the registration deadline: 75% of Total Fees*
29 calendar days or more after the registration deadline: 100% of Total Fees*

* If not all instalments or full team fees were originally paid, the outstanding fees will be disbursed among the players listed on the roster and include the team contact if they are not a player. Participants will be blacklisted until payment is received. The Individual Player Registration fee will not be refunded.
